This program was created to provide Catholic children with fun and enriching experiences which will deepen their faith and plant seeds of true inspiration, bearing fruit that will last a lifetime. Treasures of truth and timeless devotions of the Catholic Church are the centerpieces of this program.

Moments with Mary honors Our Blessed Mother by exploring seven miraculous apparitions of Mary and her love for her dear children around the world:

• Our Lady of Guadalupe
• Our Lady of Knock
• Our Lady of La Salette
• Our Lady of Lourdes
• Our Lady of Walsingham
• Our Lady of La Vang
• Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal

As a week-long summer "Vacation Bible School" program, choose one apparition per day. For each apparition, this guide provides meaningful and age-appropriate stories (three levels), engaging crafts, exciting games and activities, themed snacks, memorable music, thoughtful service projects, fun extras, helpful resources, and much more for Catholic children ages 3 to 10. Included are detailed outlines of activities, parent/leader tips, list of materials needed, craft instructions, and suggestions for alternative activities, as well as a group roster template and run-of-show templates to assist with daily operations as needed. The basic framework of organization has been provided for you, but it is flexible to allow you to implement the program as you feel is best.  For example, you could also do one apparition per month for your Wednesday evening program or simply use the resources as you celebrate feast days year-round!

This guide has been created for use as a summer VBS program on a parish level, but it would also be excellent within Catholic families, homeschool co-ops, Little Flowers and Blue Knights groups, or as part of a children’s retreat or extra-curricular enrichment program any time during the year. The stories and activities can be added to family celebrations of special feast days during the liturgical year, or they can be included as an interesting support to your religion, history, or world geography homeschool curriculum. There are so many wonderful uses for these ideas! How are you being called to share them with the special children in your life?

This program is intentionally designed to be flexible rather than prescriptive. Because every parish, co-op, classroom, and family group is unique in size, space, schedule, and leadership style, this guide does not provide rigid, step-by-step, minute-by-minute instructions. Parents and group leaders already know how best to structure their days and manage time and resources for their specific situation. Instead, this guide offers fun and faith-filled foundational content with practical recommendations that can be adapted easily into virtually any setting.
